Vasectomy

One of the most common and popular means for contraception, a vasectomy is a brief, surgical procedure in which the tubes that carry sperm are closed or blocked. It is nearly 100% effective and is intended to be permanent. Vasectomy is safe, simple, and convenient, allowing men and women to enjoy sex without worrying about pregnancy.

In most cases, the procedure can be performed at our offices in less than 45 minutes. No glands or organs are removed or altered, so a vasectomy does not affect male sex organs, sexuality, or sexual pleasure. Because of its effectiveness, it is an excellent birth control option for couples who have decided to stop growing their families but remain physically intimate and sexually active.

At Ravenscroft, we are qualified and equipped to perform “no scalpel” vasectomies in a comfortable outpatient setting. For more information about the details, risks and medical outcomes of the procedure please talk to one of our physicians. Or visit Planned Parenthood - Vasectomy for more information.
