Dr. Jeffrey Tait
Born in Wales and raised in England, Dr. Tait received his Bachelors of Surgery and Medicine from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne (England) in 1973. After serving as a House Officer (Resident) in England for two years, Dr. Tait crossed “the pond” to complete a three-year family practice residency and 1-year teaching fellowship at Anderson Memorial Hospital (Anderson, SC). Dr. Tait and his family moved to Asheville in 1979 where he has been an active presence in the Asheville medical community. In 1979 he co-founded Asheville Family Health Center before moving on to establish a successful solo practice. Dr. Tait joined Ravenscroft in 1995, making him the “eldest statesman” of the staff. When he’s not caring for his patients, Dr. Tait enjoys music, reading, gardening, and martial arts.

Dr. Mike Weizman
Dr. Weizman brings a palpable passion and energy, not only to his patients but his life as well. A graduate of Temple University School of Medicine, he completed his family practice residency in Renton, WA. just outside Seattle. While completing his residency, and while serving as chief resident, Dr. Weizman volunteered to serve externships in Swaziland, Africa and Kotzebue Alaska; experiences that left a lasting impression on him. After his residency, Dr. Weizman and his wife (also a physician) relocated to Asheville where he joined the Ravenscroft staff in 2001. They have two young daughters. In addition to medical expertise in the many areas of Family Medicine, he also brings extensive leadership training skills to bear, at Ravenscroft, and in the Asheville community. Dr. Weizman serves on a number of non-profit boards and helped to found Asheville's only Jewish day school. Back to Top

Dr. Jodi Schwab
As a competitive swimmer at the University of Kentucky (and an SEC post graduate scholarship recipient), Dr. Jodi Schwab knows all too well the value of hard work. Since joining Ravenscroft in 2002, she’s brought that determination to work everyday. After graduating from the University of Kentucky, College of Medicine in 1999, Dr. Schwab moved to Asheville to complete her residency at the Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) where she served as chief resident. In addition to her devotion to family medicine, Dr. Schwab also offers expertise in women’s health, and sports medicine. When she is not spending time with patients, chances are you can find Jodi spending time with her daughter or outdoors where she loves whitewater kayaking, snowboarding, mountain biking, and running. Dr. Elizabeth Twardon
Fluent in English and her family’s native Polish, Dr. Twardon also speaks Spanish and French, providing an international flavor to the Ravenscroft staff since she joined in July 2005. Throughout her medical training Dr. Twardon was fortunate to have opportunities to learn from and care for people in Thailand, Gabon, Bolivia, and the Dominican Republic. She now devotes herself to providing a full range of primary outpatient care to families in North Carolina. Dr. Twardon graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit with a degree in Journalism in 1979. She worked as a newspaper reporter for more than a decade before changing careers after a year of volunteering in Calcutta, India. She graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1995. Back to Top

Dr. Meredith Polansky
Dr. Meredith Polansky joined Ravenscroft Family Health Center in 2008. As with all members of the Ravenscroft medical staff, she is passionately committed to the welfare of individuals and families wherever they live. Her medical externships have taken her to far flung areas such as Borneo, South Africa, Malaysia, Haiti, India and Costa Rica to name a few. Dr. Polansky earned her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine and has an extensive background in pediatrics, adult medicine, women’s health, sports medicine and emergency/urgent care. She also is a strong advocate for holistic approaches to wellness, having completed coursework in aromatherapy and reflexology. Dr. Polansky was the creator of The Healer’s Voice, an online arts journal for health care providers. Back to Top
